Technical Support | External CAMO
Continuing Airworthiness Management Organisation

A CAMO is an organisation, which takes care of the continuing airworthiness of aircraft. The structure of a CAMO is similar to an independent company.
Besides the Accountable Manager the authority prescribes the following qualified and authorised manpower (see category PCA & QM):

-    Postholder Continuing Airworthiness (PCA)
-    Quality Manager (QM)

A CAMO is operational and economical complex. It is necessary to get suitable and up-to-date information- and revision material from the manufacturer, the authority and other organisations.

Since the 28th September 2005 every commercial aircraft operator (holder of an AOC) needs a CAMO.

After the 28th September 2008 all remaining aircraft (e.g. private aircraft, club aircraft) also will have to be integrated into a CAMO. These CAMO may be an own CAMO like described before, but it may also be an External CAMO.

The external CAMO develops a maintenance programme for the customers´ aircraft and manages the approval of modifications and repairs. Furthermore the CAMO ensures that all maintenance is carried out in accordance with the approved maintenance programme.

The external CAMO coordinates the scheduled maintenance and manages and archives Certificates of Release to Service (CRS).

FLYING FOREVER GmbH seeks for the authorisation of an External CAMO within the next months.
